Two Beadle Leyland rebuilds.
Two of East Kent's Beadle Leyland rebuilds survive in preservation. FFN 446 nearest the camera dates from June 1951 whilst GFN 273 was new in November 1952. FFN 446 was withdrawn in 1964 passing to a church group at Perivale in London in 1966 whilst GFN 273 also withdrawn in 1964 passed into non psv use at Herne Bay in 1966. They were both acquired for preservation in 1972. Here the pair stand at the Deal Running Day which was held in the Kent seaside resort on September 20th 2000. Note the modified cream roof livery carried by 446. This was applied to most coaches of this type after a few years service.
