Luton & District acquired a batch of four East Lancs 'European' bodied Scania L113CRL buses in June 1996.
Seventy nine Europeans were built, all but five for companies owned by British Bus, a predecessor of Arriva. These companies were Luton & District (27), Northumbria (20), Midland Fox (14), Clydeside 2000 (8) and Derby City Transport (5). The remaining five were sold to Yorkshire Traction.
