Old and Gone || Bataan, Philippines

At one time, there was a hotel that was the only one considered quite elegant enough to attract foreign tourists arriving in the Philippines. The Hotel de Oriente was built in 1889, and was thought to be plush for its day. Its strategic location near manicured lawns and fountains contributed to its fame as the best hotel in Manila. Also, it was known for its first class service and admirable cooking. This replica of the Hotel de Oriente can be found in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. I was pleasantly surprised to find a treasure trove of information about old buildings & houses there, that I have only learned to love and admire in faded pictures of black and white. I may not have seen them in their days, but forever will i hold love for things old and gone.
