Physics in the Pond
When two stones are thrown into a body of water, they create waves that propagate in concentric circle outwards. When waves are in opposing directions and then intersect it causes destructive interference. In other words, it is when the crest of one wave meets the trough of another and no oscillation occurs. Constructive interference is when the crest of one wave meets the crest of another wave and it results in the wave having a greater amplitude than either wave by itself.
