Miocene Monterey Formation, Little Corona Beach, Corona Del Mar, Newport Beach, Orange County, CA

Structurally folded, synformal, very thinly layered/laminated, basinal (deepwater), siliceous mudrocks - looking down strike of the syclinal/synformal axis. These may be synsedimentarily deformed. Abundant, loose blocks of clast-rich and clast-piece Monterey rocks, as well.
