Welcome to Spring
A delightful female Chiffchaff in the beautiful Dee valley. Taken on Hawthorn in the old disused railway line approaching Trevor, North Wales.
How may you say, do I know it was a Chiffchaff? Good question! It wasn't singing, hence its a female. The air was full of calling chiffchaffs. No wWillow Warblers to be heard...a bit early perhaps. And the legs are dark, not pale. So the only thing it could be confused with, a Willow Warbler, is rather ruled out. I am very happy to be corrected, if there is anyone nerdy enough to be bothered to question my judgement!!! Anyway...I was quite pleased with the pic' and it was quite pleased to let me take the photo!
