Matching Power
Something that has become rare on Pan Am is matching power. With Pan Am buying many secondhand GE locomotives, shooting the railroad has become, shall we say, less desirable. One of the holdouts of EMD power, seems to be the Rumford Job which has been running in daylight 7 days a week this winter. I was finally able to catch this train, and with 3 matching (for the most part) ex CN GP40-2LW units on the point. Here we see MEC 507, 511, and 516 rolling "westbound" with a 35 car PORU through the frozen farmland between Livermore Falls and Leeds, ME.
