Kirtland's Warbler

Wife and I were lucky to see and hear several of these rare warblers in the Huron National Forest in Upper Michigan (on the lower peninsula). The species was listed as an endangered species in 1967 and in 1974 there were only 167 breeding pair. Today it is estimated that there are over 2300 breeding pair and the species has been removed from the endangered species list.
