Diablo Lake-8502740

Diablo Lake is a reservoir created by Diablo Dam on the Skagit River in Northwestern Washington State. Diablo Lake lies between Ross Lake and Gorge Lake within the Ross Lake National Recreation Area and adjacent to the North Cascades National Park. It is part of the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project and managed by Seattle City Light. The turquoise green color results from fine powdered rock called glacial flour, which stays suspended in the water column, reflecting sunlight.
