Started in 1970 . With the introduction of the 'Magicube' flash cube (that needed in contrast with the regular flashcube , no battery power for its ignition) Kodak marketed this series of cameras , with the prefix 'X' . From the simple X-15 to the elaborate X-90 (adapted version of the Kodak Instamatic 814) . After introduction of the flip flash bar in 1975 ,several models were adapted , and were provided with the suffix 'F' , while maintaining the prefix 'X' . The Instamatic X-15F was the last instamatic camera in production , until 1988 .

In addition , the Kodak logo underwent a change in 1971 .

Cameras were made in USA , several types also in Canada .
