Function: absorption; secretion of mucus, enzymes and other substances; ciliated type propels mucus by ciliary action

 

Location: Nonciliated type lines most of digestive tract (stomach and anal canal) and gallbladder; ciliated type lines small bronchi, uterine tubes, and some regions of uterus.
