Death of the River Murray

This is the second image in this series.

I have put this up because it has a higher Fstop (f13) and therefore the background sign is almost in focus and the writing is much clearer. I originally preferred the f2.8 shot with a blurred background but I am swinging back towards this one. I am interested in feedback on which version others prefer.

Taken only a few kms from where the River Murray joins the sea. This section of the river should be under two metres of water. In the background is the Goolwa Barrage. The Goolwa Barrage holds back the sea water on the other side of the Barrage while the fresh water is on this side of the Barrage.

The River Murray is in crisis. QLD, NSW and Victoria are taking increasing and unsustainable amounts of water out of the river. Add the effects of the recent drought and the once great River Murray has been brought to its knees.

Taken in the middle of the River Murray in South Australia. This section of the river should be under two metres of water. In the background is the Goolwa Barrage.
