Bus station ad

My parents came to see us off at the bus station. I found many languages

here. You can see many advertisements while you wait for the bus at the

station. However, I was surprised by the doctors’ office advertisements. So

I thought this might be a cultural thing because I do not see any doctors

office advertisements at bus stops in the US. The advertisements in this

bus stop were for gynecology, surgery, urology, orthopedic surgery,

neurology, psychiatry and internal medicine. Others included signs for

alcohol, flowers, banks, and movie tickets. I do not know why Japanese

people put doctors’ office advertisements in the bus stop. Maybe the

language in the sign is good to help us remember, especially while we have

time to read it (waiting for the bus). I learned that doctors’ office and

alcohol advertizing rule are changing now. The advertizing can add more

information. The funeral and wedding signs were done with shuji

(calligraphy). However, if these signs use print style, I may feel a little

bored and ignore the sign.
