ABC Hendon

Originally opened on 15th February 1932 as The Ambassador Cinema. Designed by Mr. G.E. McLeavy it was furnished with 1,937 seats.

In 1949 it became a Gaumont Cinema but after nearly 20 years the Classic Cinema chain took over in December 1968.

The theatre was split into 3 screens in 1973, with another change taking place in December 1985 and Cannon Cinemas taking over. Yet another change saw MGM Cinemas installed in 1993.

The final switch came in 1996 when it became the ABC Hendon, only to close the following year in 1997.

As can be seen by the current picture, it is now a Gym & Fitness Centre.
