High Point Amphitheater Opening

Five years ago Seattle Housing Authority invited Pomegranate Center to integrate community generated art into the internationally recognized neighborhood of High Point. Numerous projects resulted: a market garden, kiosks, pocket parks, shelters, and the most recent, an amphitheater.
On July 4th the grand opening of the Commons Park, of which the amphitheater is a focal point, people gathered for the first time. A number of celebratory dances, speeches and concerts ceremonially marked the amphitheater as a space where years of neighborly exchange will happen.
