The Lenten Moon is the first full moon in March. So called because it falls during Lent. 06 March to 18 April 2019.

The Lenten Moon is also known as the Worm Moon, Sap Moon and Crow Moon.
Worm Moon. As temperatures warm, earthworm casts begin to appear and birds begin finding food.
Sap Moon. Marking the time of tapping maple trees, is a Colonial American variation.
Crow Moon. As the last full Moon of Winter. The more northern tribes of the northeastern United States knew this as the Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of Winter.
