eBird Doc Shot: American Golden-Plover
Maybe the worst shot ever of an American Golden-Plover! This bird is a prime example of the Patagonia Picnic Table Effect. Earlier in the day a Buff-breasted Sandpiper was reported from a plowed dirt field near my house. As it was a 6th county record and a potential lifer, I rushed out to see it (ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S19637548). almost as soon as I got home, another birder reported this AMGP in the same field! So naturally, I headed right back out and was able to see this guy ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S19637891().
