Lost

Okay, I feel I need to explain these photos a little because I usually don’t take photos like this. This photoshoot wasn’t intended to have a depressing theme. I just wanted to experiment with mirrors, reflections and dolls a bit. In fact, my first reaction was one of amusement as I thought ‘Haha, this is the closest I’ll ever get to seeing two Soye’s in one pic’.

 

But as I was snapping photos, I was reminded of a sad story I read in a Teen magazine during my high school days. The story was about a teenager who lost her twin sister (think it was suicide) and how she coped with the loss of ‘her other half’. She mentioned that often when she looked into the mirror, she was reminded of her sister.

 

So I incorporated that story into my photos. But before you ask, no, Soye doesn’t have a twin sister. Oh and I totally understand if you see a Fatal Frame 2 connection/theme in these photos ‘cause these photos do remind me of that as well.
