Raku Reduction

Morgan taking the pottery from the kiln to the second firing (in paper and wood chips - you try to go fast, you don't want the piece to cool too much. This fire is called the reduction fire, the oxygen is used up changing the colors and also leaving patterns - you have no control over this reaction. If you want Crackle you take the piece from the kiln and let the pot cool a minute or so and the glazes crackle and the reduction fire turns these line black ( un-glazed clay turns black).
