Storm Damage To Power Lines

That was the storm that had Link and Frank staying close to me. It was a fast moving thunder storm, with lightening, thunder, rain, hail , 60 mph winds with gust to 85 mph (and it spawned a tornado). The entire storm lasted 20 minutes - a micro burst - and then when it passed over the peninsula it headed out to the Atlantic.

This damage is amazing to me and the first time I have ever seem it. If you look to the left of the high power line structure you will notice three slack/missing cables. The lines snapped in the wind, across the James River (4.3 miles wide at this point). Some of the cables land across the James River Bridge. This is the view from Huntington Beach in Newport News, Virginia.

We lost three trees in our neighborhood to the storm.
