Judge Sharon Share-alike brings forth the "The People versus Great Plains Energy owners of Kansas City Power and Light" and reads the charges:

1. The propagation of economic apartheid though continuous

and blatant non payment of taxes placing this economic

burden on the poor, the elderly, the underemployed, the

unemployed, students and these conditions have

disproportionately fallen hardest on communities of color.

 

2. In their refusal to pay taxes, Kansas City Power & Light

has caused this State’s budget to be slashed, affecting

critical community services. These public service cuts

include teachers, firefighters, police, and Medicaid services,

resulting in undo stress and anxiety within the

community as a whole.

 

3. Blatant disregard for the health and well being of the

greater community in the unrestrained pursuit of profit

and willfully and knowingly avoiding payment of taxes.
