is it easy to disconnect the Fuel Filter connector ?? hell no ,, it's hard as hell 3min

i made this video to show you how hard and what efforts are required to disconnect this type fuel filter connector from the feed fuel line that are rusted for 25 years ,, on a 1997 silverado .. chevrolet or any gm car truck model that uses this type ..

i did not try to remove it with any wrench while still in the pickup .. but just cut the lines off to remove the whole fuel line... I cut first the fuel pump sender pipes ,, then cut it at the filter,,, cut both the feed and return lines mid way at the frame ,, and was able to unscrew both the feed and return lines at the engine intake connections .. to now remove all the fuel lines ..

now filter on the vise ,, i first used snap-on wrench 20mm on filter and snapon flare 16mm on the line connector where you see it just round the 16mm nut connector .. to simulate doing it on the truck .. because the nut is so rusted ,, the nut metal also was not a tight fit on the wrench too .. that the force needed to loosen was much greater than the nut itself .. and once you rounded the nut ,, you now need to replace the line ...or use another solution if on the truck ..

then i used vise grips and it could not hold the 16mm nut but further rounded the nut .. again ,, see how tight it is ..

then i use new vise grips with good teeth to grab it and take it off .. but i had to use a lot of leverage and use both my hands ,, and someone else was hold the 20mm wrench on the filter ... that is how hard it was to remove ..

i did not try to use any lube before ,, as i was curious to see if ,, it could be dis-connected by just brute force and how much is needed ... so as you see now ,, don't even try and donna even waste any time trying but just cut the lines ,, if it is rusted on the nut ,, and been on for years and years ..

another beware ,, when i bent the fuel lines ,, the metal where rusted ,, the metal was weak and eventually would have failed and i would have been leaking gas ..
