Jay says: This is Phoetry. Because the sheer beauty of the range of human emotions in those three faces made me shed a little tear. Her touching the lines on the table as if to say this is the line you don't cross .... the lines being reflected from the outside traffic with the the manhole cover in which she refuses to fall down into directly to her left hand ... her making a stand ....and the lady outside looking on from outside in understanding ... wonderful, wonderful photo. Above all, a very intelligent photo with so many varieties of stories to tell.

Jay says: Amongst so many things, because it got me crying. It's a photo of two people from my adoptive country - and because the beauty of how Naomi captured their Endurance against the odds of their circumstances reminds me of so many young people I work with every day here in Shanghai, the lucky ones to have risen above and escaped those circumstances through sheer hard work, dedication and here and a bit of luck. I wish this photo was mine for it truly does encapsulates how I see China and the wonderful people I have the honour of working with every day.
