C No.592
Constructed at Longhedge Works for the South Eastern & Chatham Railway this C was outshopped as No.592. Taken into SR she became No.1592 and then No.31592 under BR. Throughout her career she never left Kent being shedded at Ramsgate, Nine Elms, Tonbridge and Ashford Chart Leacon. Withdrawn in 1961 she became departmental No.DS239. Purchased by the Wainwright C Preservation Society in 1966 she remained at Ashford before coming to the Bluebell in 1970. Returning to work in 1975 she has had two major overhauls which have included a new tender and boiler.
