Wolverine II
"The G.I.Joe Wolverine II packs a heavy punch in a small package. Its light armor protects its crew of two from shrapnel and machine gun fire. It typically carries twelve of the newest generation antiarmor missiles, but these can be replaced with a variety of missiles to target infantry, soft skinned vehicles or bunkers. G.I.Joe now has several major antiarmor assets, and Cobra armor troopers have no reason to feel safe anymore!"
I wanted to add some personal touches to the Wolverine www.yojoe.com/vehicles/83/wolverine/. I moved the driver over from the right to the left side of the hull, and added better crew protection for her. I also figured the vehicle would work better with a crew of two, with a dedicated driver/commander and a separate missile operator. I considered having the second crewmember sitting in the hull, but opted to go with a manned turret instead. The result is slightly bulkier looking than the original, but it works well for my uses.
Initially, I want to build this in olive green, but I didn't have the right brick selection to do build the entire vehicle in that color, so instead went with a camo scheme representing the Lynx, which is based on the Wolverine chassis. I was going to add a machine gun, but couldn't find anywhere to put it that would look cool and also be practical. This came together fairly quickly for me, and uses some of the same track and wheel techniques as my Mauler.
Next up I am going to have a go at a modernized version of the classic Joe APC. After that I'm not sure, perhaps back to Cobra?
