Litlanesfoss waterfall, Iceland

Litlanesfoss is a unique and exceptional waterfall in the Hengifoss river. The waterfall is about 30 meters high and flows through a narrow field of columnar basalt rocks. The hexagonal basalt rocks are formed when lava cools slowly. The high and hexagonal straight volcanic rocks are unusually regular of shape and makes the whole scene immensely fascinating. Having a tremendous fear of heights it took a long time before I could lay down near the edge. I stretched the tripod with the camera in full length, put it in front of me and started shooting. In my opinion one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful waterfall of Iceland.
