Uno spettacolo che in quest’ultimo periodo l’esemplare adulto di foca monaca, cui è stato dato il nomignolo di “Adriana”, ha riproposto in diverse occasioni. Non è la prima volta, infatti, che il mammifero viene avvistato sulla spiaggia di Saccorgiana, dove mercoledì scorso si è intrattenuto per alcune ore nonostante gli innumerevoli passanti e curiosi che hanno colto l’occasione per fotografare e fotografarsi con “Adriana”.
La foca monaca (Monachus Monachus), chiamata così per il colore del suo manto, è nota sin da tempi antichissimi. Ne parlava Aristotele e alcune leggende raccontano che era un animale sacro al dio Apollo, caro a Poseidone e che, con ogni probabilità, le mitiche sirene che ammaliavano i marinai erano proprio foche monache. Fino alla loro ricomparsa nell’Adriatico il mito rischiava di essere l’ultimo spazio dove incontrare “Adriana”.

The species is therefore considered to be in critical danger of extinction. "

and ... I have had great luck and great joy to admire up close and capture this splendid example reposing on the sun in a bay full of swimmers ... a surreal encounter, a gift from the sea marvelous that we did see her treasure and then they took it over ....... the seal died the day after my departure, they say probably by old age.
Needless to say, this is my favorite picture of all the holidays, a meeting unrepeatable because photographed on the first day of the holiday and never seen again ...un true gift
