25. “ e ciascun uomo giudicherà se stesso.”
Matteo ci fornisce una descrizione classica del Giorno del Giudizio: Il Figlio dell'Uomo siede su un trono e,come un pastore,separa i capretti dalle pecore.
In quel momento,la grande domanda di ogni essere umano non sarà:”Come ho vissuto?” Bensì. “Come ho amato?”
Non si terrà alcun conto di ciò che abbiamo fatto,di quello in qui crediamo,di cosa abbiamo ottenuto.
Ci sarà chiesto soltanto in che modo abbiamo amato il prossimo.
Verremo giudicati per il bene che abbiamo evitato di fare.
E' al cospetto di Dio che le nazioni del mondo saranno riunite.
E' alla presenza di tutti gli esseri umani che verremo giudicati.
E ciascun uomo giudicherà se stesso.
Li ci saranno coloro che abbiamo incontrato e aiutato.
E quelli che abbiamo disprezzato e respinto.
Oltre alla mancanza di Amore,nessun'altra accusa sarà formulata.
Non lasciatevi ingannare: le parole che udirete quel giorno non verranno dalla teologia,né dai santi,né dalle Chiese.
Arriveranno dagli affamati e dai poveri.
Non verranno dai credi e dalle dottrine.
Arriveranno dagli ignudi e dai diseredati.
Non giungeranno dalle Bibbie e dai libri di preghiere.
Proverranno dai bicchieri d'acqua che abbiamo offerto o rifiutato.

"And every man will judge himself."
Matthew gives us a classic description of Judgment Day: The Son of Man sits on a throne and, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the kids.
At that moment, the big question of every human being will not be, "How I have lived?" Rather. "How I loved?"
Does not be held any account of what we have done, what we believe in, what we got.
There will be only asked how we loved our neighbor.
We will be judged for the good that we have avoided to do.
It is before of God that the nations of the world will be reunited.
Is to the presence of all the human beings that we will come judged.
And each man will judge himself.
There will be those that we have met and helped.
And those that we have despised and rejected.
Besides the lack of Love, no accusation will be made.
Do not be fooled: the words that you will hear that day will not be the theology nor the saints, neither by the Churches.
They will come from the hungry and the poor.
Will not be creeds and doctrines.
Will come from naked and destitute.
Will not come from Bibles and prayer books.
Will come from the glasses of water we offered or refused
