Trochosa ruricola (De Geer, 1778)

The species is widespread in the southern half of Britain, becoming very scattered in the north. It is widespread in western and central Europe as far north as southern Norway. Generally a nocturnal species, T.ruricola can be found in a variety of habitats. Adults of both sexes have been recorded from March to December, but mainly from late spring to mid-summer.
