Anyphaena accentuata
by Tone Killick
A common Southern Britain species, but a first for me, Anyphaena accentuata and yes I'm taking a liberty of assuming this is A.accentuata as our only other species of the Anyphaenidae family, Anyphaena sabina has only been recorded 3 times in the UK. These are commonly known as buzzing spiders because when the male courts a female, he will vibrate his abdomen on a leaf which is audible to us mere humans. The Anyphaenidae are field identifiable by the distinctive arrow-like markings on the abdomen
