One of the commonest spiders of buildings, frequently constructing nests around window frames and garage doors. They can be frequent inside houses often resting in the corners of ceilings over winter. Adults mature in late summer and females can continue to build webs over the winter. The web is usually easy to spot because it has a sector lacking spiral threads hence the common name 'missing-sector orb-weaver
