A grimey 66779 hauls the Felixstowe South - Doncaster Intermodal over a placid River Gipping, onto Boss Hall Junction and the Ipswich Bacon Curve. 30 01 2017

The Bacon Curve, links the East Suffolk & Great Eastern Lines, forming a triangle. This opened to revenue earning traffic, in April 2014. The point of this curve is to divert freight away from the London end of the GEML to provide more space for passenger trains. Intermodal traffic for Central, Northern England & Scotland will all eventually use this curve.

The Bacon Curve sits on land which used to house the Harris Bacon Factories, hence the name, 'Bacon Curve'. The whole scene is surrounded on every side by various Industrial Estates and areas.
