Cockerill 0-4-0 Belgian Vertical Boiler Loco, No.2525, with the Driver & Guard in deep discussion, Brockford Station. Mid Suffolk Light Railway. 28 11 2015
Built in Belgium at Leige in 1906, this 0-4-0 loco has a vertical boiler, not the usual horizontal boiler on a conventional loco. The main advantage of this arrangement is its rapid steaming from cold, in around 1 hour, making them very useful in industrial shunting locations.
The loco has recently been fitted with vacuum braking equipment, making it possible to haul passenger coaching stock on this line.
