Personal Project

For this project, I took pictures of Tommy Nemeh is various places that each showed a small chunk of his personality. These include Swimming, playing soccer, playing the guitar, skateboarding, and lastly a picture of his face.

First, I took a picture of Tommy swimming. He has been swimming for a while now and it is a big part in his life, so I thought I would use a picture of him swimming for this project. He is doing a stroke called butterfly, which is a very hard stroke and requires a lot of physical demand. The picture shows the struggle of the stroke as you can see by his facial expression. I turned up the saturation so that the water would look bluer and pop out more.

Second, I took a picture of Tommy playing soccer. Soccer was and still is a big part in Tommy’s life. He spent years training and improving on his soccer abilities. Due to this, I decided to use this as another picture for this project. I turned the contrast up so that his shirt and the ball pop out more. I also used rule of thirds for this picture.

Third, I took a picture of Tommy playing guitar. Tommy has been playing guitar for many years now and is a huge part in his daily life. Because of this, I decided to also use this as another picture in this project. I also took this picture in rule of thirds and I used shallow depth of field to make his hands, which are playing a chord, pop out more.

Fourth, I took a picture of Tommy skateboarding. Tommy has been skateboarding for a very long time now and he does it as much as he can. He has learned various tricks over the years and I got him doing a perfect heel flip in the picture. I used stopped motion to get him flipping the board in the air. I turned the saturation up so that the grass behind him looked greener.

Lastly, I took a picture of Tommy’s face. However, this picture has more to it than just a face. This picture shows the inner peace and creativity stored deep within Tommy’s mind. It shows that he is more than just another human being. He is his own person living in another world of imagination. I turned the contrast and saturation to make the colors really pop.
