Jimmy's tongue

Jimmy developed the same lumps on his tongue that he did at this time last year. I held out as long as I could so he wouldn't have to go through the procedure to get rid of them. I don't think they hurt - they probably just feel strange - but his tongue reached the point where I really did need to take him to the vet.

At work we often have clients who want to "come to the back" where we draw blood and urine, clean wounds and ears, trim nails and do anything else that might be slightly unpleasant for their cat. We always assure them that their cat will be fine so no, the client may not accompany their cat to the back. I planned to stay with Jimmy while they put a catheter in him, sedated him, debrided his tongue with a razor and then injected a steroid under each mass but the doctor subtly informed me that I could pick him up in the early afternoon when he was all done and good to go. They didn't want me in the back with my cat!!

His tongue is healing beautifully and never once, before or after his procedure, did it seem to interfere with his love of eating.
