Loved Ones
These are just some of the cats who have died since I started taking pictures eight months ago of cats at work. They each have a story. Oliver, the ginger and white cat sitting up in the center of the collage passed away yesterday. When he first started boarding, years ago, he HATED us. He gradually relaxed to the point that for the past couple of years he was one of the most social boarders we had - he wanted to meet everyone. See the little black and white kitty above Oliver? Her name was Pepe. She was probably the most pathetic looking cat I've ever seen and her mom thought she was beautiful. Peanut (top row, second from the right) and Annie (below Oliver) were both 21 years old when they died but Gizmo (top row, center) was the oldest at 22. Aristotle (bottom row, right column) was only three when he was diagnosed with FIP and died shortly after that. He had three brothers and they were a riot when they boarded - ambushing each other one minute and grooming each other the next. Jinx (left column, third from the bottom) was fine one day and paralyzed from the hips down the next. She probably had a blood clot but was happy, friendly and acted healthy until the day before she died.
The only thing all these cats had in common was that they were cherished by their families.
I realize a couple cats look almost identical but there are no repeats - each picture is of a different cat.
