Stag Beetle (neither Triumph nor Volkswagen)

I found this fella floating in the birdbath, motionless. I rescued him and placed him in a sunny spot and after a few minutes, like a cross between Lazarus and Icarus, he flew into the air, crashed onto the porch floor and floundered on his back. I then parked him here on the gatepost and after a few more minutes, off he went.
