London Central PVL284 (PJ02 RCU) on route 89 at Bexleyheath Shopping Centre

It's been over two years since I was bus spotting down in Bexley. I try to avoid it because I have a lot of family there, and I don't want them catching me taking pictures of buses... But in this case I had to make an exception to try and catch one of the two remaining PVLs in regular TfL service. It's also nostalgic for me since it was on the BX routes, and the 89 in particular, that I was introduced to these buses back in 2000.

Despite what it looks like, PVL284 still runs really well. It tackled the Welling side of Shooter's Hill with ease, though it did have the advantage of gaining speed beforehand, all the while whirring away like a DB250. The only problem is that it seems to be suffering with the typical idle loop problem that B7TLs experience. Also something has apparently taken a bite out of the nearside A pillar.
