London Central / General PVL417 (LX54 GZW) on route 87 at Vauxhall Bus Station
This bus was also out on the N87 that night, and ended up being the last of this batch in service. Thankfully it wasn't the end of the PVL class completely, since Merton still have their three 16 year old stragglers, and at this rate will probably be keeping them until the wheels fall off and can't be glued back on again!
I was chatting with the driver, and he said these are nicer to drive than the newer buses. He was mentioning all the things I usually hear, such as the comfortable driving position, good visibility from the wrap-around windscreen, and how smoothly they deliver the power they have. A common complaint about the B7TL seems to be that of the brakes being a little bit too sharp. Apparently some care has to be taken to brake smoothly.
Funny thing about that driver: he seemed to think that I worked for TfL, and that I was going to sue him!
