This sea urchin is ca. 20 million years old !

Alas it will not become older, because during today's photo session it fell from the table and broke into 100 pieces : ' (

 

- I did buy this fossil 30 years ago in the South of Italy.

This sea urchin belongs to the genus Clypeaster.

Size of the complete urchin: 110 x 91 mm

Age: Lower Miocene (about 20 Mill. Years)

 

- Dit fossiel kocht ik 30 jaar geleden in Zuid Italië.

Deze zee-egel behoort tot het genus Clypeaster.

Afmetingen: 110 x 91 mm

Leeftijd: laat Mioceen (ca. 20 miljoen jaar)
