The Noordoostpolder (province Flevoland) has the most tulips of the whole Netherlands.
Every year in April/May thousands of people come to see the tulip fields of the Noordoostpolder. The tulip bulbs that were planted a few months ago, have now transformed acres of land into a colorful spectacle.
The Tulip Festival offers a special route which takes you along the most beautiful and panoramic tulip fields in this polder. You can choose between hiking, biking, horse carriage rides and covered wagon tours.

Tulpenfestival in de Noordoostpolder
Van 12 april t/m 4 mei staat de Noordoostpolder weer in het teken van het Tulpenfestival. De tulpenroute in de Noordoostpolder is de langste aaneengesloten route van Nederland. Het grootste deel van de in Nederland geteelde bloembollen worden hier gekweekt. Naast de wandel-, fiets- en autoroutes langs de tulpenvelden zijn er vele activiteiten en bedrijven te bezoeken.
Er zijn vroege en late tulpensoorten en daardoor zijn er vanaf nu (tot zeker eind april) langs de route steeds velden in bloei.
Tijdens het Tulpenfestival zijn er speciale fietsroutes, wandeltochten en koetsentochten langs de bollenvelden uitgezet. De route komt ook langs de Tulpen Showtuin en het tulpeninformatiecentrum.
