Edmonds Ferry. While on the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula, some people started pointing up to the sky. I had never seen a sun halo before. I looked for something to shield the sun and thought the light worked pretty well. After getting home, I was able to google rainbow around the sun and found out that it is also called a 22 degree halo or a sun halo. Apparently it is caused by sunlight passing through ice crystals in the clouds within the atmosphere. Very cool!
