1pic Free Choice

Free choice is a difficult yet very interesting assignment. My father has been smoking for the majority of his life and my heart bleeds every time I see him light another cigarette. All of my life, my mother and I have been trying to get him to quit, but nothing seems to work. I have painted, sculpted, and discussed the topic for him, yet nothing works so I have decided to turn to another form of persuasive art, photography. I wanted to make a metaphorical photo that represents what happens to him because of the deadly stick. The cup of clear water represents healthy lungs and the pigment flooding the water represents the tar that builds up. The two candles on both sides of the cup represent the lighter needed to start the deadly effect of cigarettes. The pigment (tar/toxins) floods and pollutes the lungs taking over and eventually leaving no healthy tissue. I made minimal adjustments to my picture in Camera Raw such as exposure, brightness, etc. The only thing I would like to improve in my photo (in the future) would be having a black background and I would also use a tripod so the picture would be more even and steady, but overall, I believe this picture is full of creativity and a success on the most part.
