On summer Saturday's only from 26 May 2018 to 8 September 2018 South Western Railway have introduced a service onto the Swanage Railway. The second Saturday into the service, and SWR liveried 159003 is again used for the service, having been used the previous week on the inaugural service. Here it passes over Creech Bottom UWC between Furzebrook Sidings and Worgret Junction operating 2G04 14:10 Corfe Castle - Wareham. Originating at Basingstoke the unit takes a very indirect route to get to Corfe Castle, operating as 1L11 07:22 from Basingstoke via Salisbury, Gillingham, Yeovil Junction, Yeovil Pen Mill, Weymouth and finally Wareham before heading down to Corfe Castle. Three trips are undertaken in total between Wareham and Corfe Castle whereby the unit then returns to London Waterloo as 1L66 15:45 from Corfe Castle, again in a very indirect manor running in reverse of the outward route. South Western Railway are promoting this service with special offers, and loading's are reportedly excellent already after just two weeks, more details can be found here www.southwesternrailway.com/destinations-and-offers/offer...
