Stood in Hampshire, photographing a train in Dorset. In the foreground is the River Mude, which runs into Christchurch Harbour at Mudeford. The boundary between Hampshire and Dorset is the opposite side of the river at the boundary with the field. Prior to 1974 this would have been solely in Hampshire, the Dorset border prior to 1974 lying between Bournemouth and Poole. In the distance a SouthWest Trains liveried Class 444 units heads along Christchurch bank, to the west of Hinton Admiral, heading for Waterloo (to the right).
