Die Erde ist eine Kartoffel
Das hat man mir im Studium jedenfalls beigebracht.
Auf dem Land gibt es viele Berge und Täler, soweit klar. Das sehen sogar wir im schönsten Bundesland der Welt ein, obwohl es an geeignetem Anschauungsmaterial fehlt...
Intressant ist, dass auch der Meeresspiegel Höhen und Tiefen aufweist: Nein nicht die Wellen, sondern richtig große, aber sanfte Verformungen. Die erreichen so in etwa die Höhe der Windräder, die man hier sieht, aber verteilen sich dann auf eine Fläche, die größer als Europa sein kann.
Das wirkt nun sehr wenig, aber stellt euch vor, das Meer wäre bei uns 100 Meter höher: Da würde nur noch der Bungsberg rauskucken.

On land, there are many mountains and valleys, that is logical. Intresting is, that also the sea level is not constant - and I did not mean water waves.
There are big hills and depths in it which can reach the size of the wind turbines on the horizon. But on an area like the whole Europe.
That seems very small, but think about it: If you are on the beach and suddenly the sea level is 100 meters higher, that is a big flood wave...
