Details and History

The Wikimedia Commons offers a multitude of historical images with no restrictions on use. This 1874 stereoview, shows the Club Girls of Friend's School, Providence, RI. This Quaker school is not indicated in Wikipedia's list of continuing and/or defunct colleges in Rhode Island. It is possible the group is instead from the Moses Brown school, one of the oldest preparatory schools in the United States. The original card held by the New York Public Library (NYPL) is annotated on the reverse with additional info:
