Ghost plant (3 of 6)
Monotropa Uniflora, also known as ghost plant, corpse plant, or indian pipe, is a parasitic herbaceous perennial plant. As a parasite it needs no chlorophyll, instead deriving necessary energy from its host - commonly mycorrhizal fungi. You can follow this link to look through my other Monotropa Uniflora images.
Another shot using macro mode gives a good sense of the frail leaves but doesn't capture the faint pink hue in the flowers.
