Fractal shield

For some reason this image looked like some sort of psychedelic shield.

 

The source image is a Mandelbrot set fractal rendered in 3D with FractalWorks. FractalWorks is high performance fractal renderer for Macintosh computers. You can purchase FractalWorks in the Mac App Store

 

If you have FractalWorks, you can right click on the following link, select "copy link", and then select "New fractal from URL in clipboard" in FractalWorks:

I turned the fractal into a kaleidoscope using ScopeWorks, another of my company's products.
