Sea horse star tie-die 3D

This plot was rendered in FractalWorks, a free high performance fractal renderer for Macintoshes.

 

This is a sea horse mandelbrot plot taken from a spot on a tendril of a seahorse on the largest baby Mandelbrot on the real axis.

 

I gave the plot the same kind of treatment I give fractal flowers, but it has a different effect on this one. I think it makes it look sort of like a star.

 

The pattern in the center looks rather like a Julia set from seahorse valley, but it's really a Mandelbrot set.

 

The color scheme is based on Kent's "tie dye" color scheme. (Thanks Kent!) It's a little wilder than my usual style, but I like it.
